Field Of Flags As the American military casualty list grows to 2000 today Tuesday Oct. 25th 2005 a cold rain falls in Somers CT and Anne Kirkpatrick of Somers adds eight new flags and fixes some toppled by rain at the Somers Congregational Church where she and others from the Church Memorial Garden Committee created a memorial this past weekend in memory of the American military men & women who have given their lives in the Iraq & Afghanistan war. Kirkpatrick says the memorial was created not as any political statement but simply to pay tribute to the many who serve in the military and who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Kirkpatrick says flags will be added to the memorial as needed.
