Bio:
My journey into photojournalism started out as a sliver of light that turned into a beacon, a desire that has become a lifestyle of searching for “moments in time.” They happen all around us day and night. I am a staff photographer for the Glendale News-Press and Burbank Leader, two Los Angeles Times Community Newspapers, for 3 years, capturing amazing moments in two of the most interesting cities in the County of Los Angeles. Spot News, Features, Environmental Portraits and Sports are the bread and butter of my everyday life.
I studied journalism at Los Angeles Valley College and worked for the school paper, the Valley Star as a photographer, valley life editor and photo editor.
I competed two years at JACC, winning numerous first place awards. I am also an Alumni of “Saturday at the Times,” a program for a small number of selected students attending College in Southern California. Upon graduating with an AA in Journalism, and with an additional Certificate in Photojournalism, I attended the Eddie Adams workshop in 2004.
I am still working on my BA at Cal State Northridge, expecting to graduate in 2008.
This year I won a Certificate of Achievement for a sports photo in the CNPA, Better Newspapers Contest.
The most amazing part of being a photojournalist is the opportunity to discover our world and the people in it as well as the ability to grow as a person and a photographer.
